After a busy New Year, Keswick has quietened down for a while. You can easily get a table in the cafes and pubs, many of the shops have sales on and the fells are much quieter – so much nicer for winter walking. It is an ideal time to visit the Lake District before the Easter rush. It might be chilly in the evenings but our heating is always on in the guesthouse and there are homemade cakes and shortbread to have with a cuppa when you get back!

Park Runs are increasingly popular across the UK and several of our guests have taken part in the Keswick Park run held every Saturday morning at 9.00 am. Everyone is welcome but you do need to register beforehand and there is no charge. More details can be found on

We are delighted that the Lake District is now a World Heritage Site, joining iconic locations such as the Grand Canyon, the Taj Mahal, the Great Barrier Reef and Machu Picchu. A plaque commemorating this award for the National Park is situated in Crow Park, Keswick which was unveiled by His Royal Highness Prince Charles on 26th March 2018.
